Little Temple, 4519 Santa Monica Blvd, LA, CA 90029
2010 is a good year, especially when I had the honor of seeing a band as fabulous as Habanot Nechama at this small venue called Little Temple. Bars are interesting because of the people who frequent them, and all depends of the place, the location, the service and the variety of alcoholic beverages. Different kinds of people are attracted to different kinds of bars. Music bands can bring together a remarkable mix of people and inspire different kinds of emotions; however, Habanot Nechama inspired the best in us: happiness.
Little Temple looks like a Buddhist sanctuary because there are lots of votive candles, Chinese lanterns and Bamboo-Lined walls. The owner has created a unique atmosphere for the clientele as well as for the music talent. As I contemplated the place, I couldn’t help myself but to listen to the enthusiasm among the people as they waited for the melody to begin. Habanot Nechama sang a mixed style of Hebrew/English/Jazz/Reggae, which created a distinctive type of music. People danced with the rhythm of Habanot Nechama’s style and Little Temple looked like a big celebration. Unfortunately, the celebration ended but the music continue to inspire us long after.
