107 Bar, 107 W 4th Street, LA, CA
107 Bar is a peculiar bar not just because of its appearance but also because of the joy that is in the air. People’s laughter is part of the noise and people’s dance is the rhythm. People’s good time is a normal incident at this bar. The entrance door looks like a key knob, inside there are friendly and good looking bartenders that provide cheap alcoholic beverages to their clientele. The back room has a dance floor for the customers that like to show off their dance moves. The venue has interesting art all over the walls which creates an artsy ambiance. Saturday night was a fun night because there were gorgeous and friendly people. A bartender danced on top of the bar, grabbing our attention. Winter can be a bit lonely, especially in L.A., but people who love hot nights; 107 Bar is sunny all year long.

2010 is a celebration at Little Temple
Little Temple, 4519 Santa Monica Blvd, LA, CA 90029
2010 is a good year, especially when I had the honor of seeing a band as fabulous as Habanot Nechama at this small venue called Little Temple. Bars are interesting because of the people who frequent them, and all depends of the place, the location, the service and the variety of alcoholic beverages. Different kinds of people are attracted to different kinds of bars. Music bands can bring together a remarkable mix of people and inspire different kinds of emotions; however, Habanot Nechama inspired the best in us: happiness.
Little Temple looks like a Buddhist sanctuary because there are lots of votive candles, Chinese lanterns and Bamboo-Lined walls. The owner has created a unique atmosphere for the clientele as well as for the music talent. As I contemplated the place, I couldn’t help myself but to listen to the enthusiasm among the people as they waited for the melody to begin. Habanot Nechama sang a mixed style of Hebrew/English/Jazz/Reggae, which created a distinctive type of music. People danced with the rhythm of Habanot Nechama’s style and Little Temple looked like a big celebration. Unfortunately, the celebration ended but the music continue to inspire us long after.

Fat Freddy's Drop band
Roxy, 9009 West Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA
There is a legendary nightclub located on Sunset Boulevard that is an entertainment Mecca: Roxy. There are extensive collections of musician’s photos that adorn the club’s walls and create stimulation for the music fans. On Friday night, my friends and I went to see the band called Fat Freddy’s Drop. Unexpectedly, Roxy was packed with fascinating fans and it seemed like my friends knew the majority of them. The door man had a gorgeous smile and right from the start I felt like the evening was going to be interesting. Inside the place, people were getting anxious for the show to begin. The first band was great; the crowd was dancing to the rhythm of their Caribbean vibe. While I was in front of the stage I couldn’t help myself but to give in to the free and captivating rhythm. As Fat Freddy’s Drop was getting ready to make their appearance, I took the opportunity to search for my friends. I got into the VIP area and surprisingly, I found my friends waiting for the group’s entrance. Fat Freddy’s Drop is a seven piece Roots/ Reggae/ Jazz/Soul band from New Zealand. The band formed in the late 1990’s and today their music is epic. Every single musician in the band is extraordinary, and all of them combined make the viewer’s spirit tremble. The night was getting better and better as the music hypnotized the spectators and the drinks kept flowing. When Fat Freddy’s Drop prepared to play the last song of their set, the crowd was disappointed that the good times and music were coming to an end. Fortunately, they pleased their fans with one extra song. Finally, we all accepted that the show finished and we left Roxy’s to go home but with happy spirits.
